INTRODUCTION

Even though I love singing, in my journey to fame, I’ve had two really bad experiences.

The first one . . . was just bad luck.

The second made me never want to sing again.

But I did sing again, of course . . . But why am I going to this audition, which could potentially be the third bad experience?

Okay, let’s back up. (takes a breath) at some point in June, my ghetto brother, who never hangs out with the family any more, barged into my room, waving a leaflet.

“Yo Tam!” he said loudly, scaring the life out of me (I had headphones of, listening to Chris Brown, but the volume was low.) “Here’s somethin’ ‘bout an audition. You like that stuff, don’t you?”

No – I – don’t! I rolled my eyes – Tyrone should know that since BE2 (Bad Experience Two) I haven’t so much as looked at that stuff.

I turned back to the song I was writing and said dismissively, “Not interested. Thanks but no thanks.”

“But that guy you like is judging!” Tyrone protested. I huffed and snatched the sheet. Does the boy ever give up?

“Which guy, JD?” I seriously doubt JD, of all people, would be judging this . . . he’s my age! Suddenly, I realised he didn’t mean that guy . . . I scanned the leaflet. It read;

SINGERS WANTED!
As part of a singing project involving teenage singers and performing artists, some of the most popular Record Labels have fused together to create the ‘Wild Legend Project’.

Auditions take place at the Royal Lotus Hall at 9 o’clock on July 1st.

Singers must be between 10 and 20 years of age, and singers under 16 must have parental consent. (Please visit the website to receive a parental Consent Form.)

Singers may come solo or in groups, (maximum of 8 people) and must have at least one song prepared, as well as be able and willing to show another talent.

Judges include Arita May, Gary Lincoln, Larry Adder, and guest judge; Chris Brown!

I screamed.

I truly did. For exactly seven seconds - which is a long time when you’re as shocked as hell.

Why did this have to happen to me? How could they put my worst enemy and my dream guy in the same place?!

“Calm down! Yeesh!” muttered Tyrone, slouching out of my room.

But I couldn’t, and therefore wouldn’t. I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep, and so I didn’t. I just couldn’t calm down, but I knew I shouldn’t act so crazily.

Urgh, couldn’t, wouldn’t, didn’t, shouldn’t! I’m confusing myself!

As I lay in my bed, awake . . . my mind drifted to my two Bad Experiences . . .

Guys, I have bad news...I might not be able to post tonight...my older sister...you know her...she wants to use the laptop (probably for her stupid myspace shizz) so I have to leave...my dad said he would ban me if I said it was unfair again...and she won't use the computer, even though my stories are here on the laptop...I don't like her very much right now...bye...
