The next thing that happened was to be expected. I came out of my room trying to act as if nothing was wrong, but mom knew better. She marched us all downstairs and made us sit at the dining table. She sat at one end with Dustin and I either side of her. The others sat wherever they wanted, Bryan at the other end ‘so he could see everybody’.

“Carnell, tell me what this is all about.”
“He stole my money!”
“I'm pretty sure I asked Carnell to talk. It’s funny; I hear a voice, but I don’t see his mouth moving.” Dustin got the message and shut up.
“Carnell?”
“Well…” And it all just…came out. I couldn’t stop it. Everything, from the meeting on the stairs to the point when Dustin was chasing me up them.
“So where’s the money hidden?” I knew I would tell her whether I wanted to or not, so I leant over and whispered it into her ear, so the others wouldn’t hear. “Bring it down.”
“But-”
“But nothing. Go get it.” I sighed, and went upstairs. Mom made sure no-one followed me. As I came down the stairs, I heard Dustin say ‘I just wanted to see if it was true’ . Everyone looked at me as I walked in. I hoped they wouldn’t ask any more questions. There was a lot of stuff I didn’t want them to know. My brothers eyed the money hungrily as I sat down. Mom held her hands out and I obediently put the money into them.
“Wow, how much is here?” She wondered aloud.
“352 dollars.” She looked at me questioningly.
“I count it a lot. To see if any of it’s been taken.”
“Where did you get this from?”
“Saved up most of it.”
“And the rest?”
“He stole it from me.” Dustin interjected.
“Why? You had all this money, but you still stole from your older brother.” Dustin gave me a look. One that said ‘if you tell mom, I'll get you later’. You and I both know that it wasn’t like I had a choice.
“I did it to get at him.”
“For what, exactly?” I gulped as Dustin glared at me.
“For what he did.”
“And what did he do?”
“He…he got drunk.” Man, was I dead.
“What?! Dustin, is this true? Judging by the looks you’re giving Carnell, I'm guessing it is. Give me your car keys.”
“What?!”
“You heard what I said. Hand them over.”
“But I need my car!”
“God gave you legs. Use them. You can walk to school.”
“For how long?”
“Two weeks.”
“But-”
“It’ll be longer if you talk again.” Dustin reluctantly gave mom his keys. I didn’t make eye contact because I knew he’d try to kill me with his eyes. Obviously, the most he would be able to do would be to send me ‘I'm gonna kill you’ looks, but I couldn’t actually die . Still, I didn’t want to look at him. Not that I could, anyway.
“Carnell.” Mom’s voice cut through my thoughts.
“Yeah? I mean, yes mom?”
“What I am going to do with you?”
“I don’t know.”
“What should I do to your brother?”
“I know a lot of things you could do.”
“Like what?”
“I don’t wanna say, because it’s not fair on him.”
“Don’t you think he deserves some kind of punishment?”
“I think taking away his car for two whole weeks is punishment enough. He won’t be able to drive his girlfriend to school. Whoops. I wasn’t supposed to tell you that.”
“Tell me more.”
“I can’t. Dustin’s gonna beat me up.”
“He wouldn’t really hurt you, would he?”
“He would. That time I tripped over Dustin’s sneaker and fell down the stairs, he was still wearing it. He did it on purpose. And the time Patrick almost burnt the house down, it was my fault. But he was the one that ran up the phone bill talking to some girl he met on the internet. And Bryan lied about his detention. He went to meet some girl, but she stood him up; that’s the REAL reason why he was in a bad mood. And Kelly, I don’t know much about him, but he could be dealing for all I know. But like I said, I don’t.” Mom gasped and ‘no’-ed as the revelations went on. I couldn’t stop. I was like a tap that had been left open; one where you have all the water and it all comes out.

Well…there’s chapter 5 for ya…love you all…BUMP IT UP!!!

Sorry but this is going to be a very short review because I'm still shocked and in awe or...don't know the right word...surprized...wow-ified (and not supposed to be using the laptop).
